An Inspired School

THE KINDRED PROJECT

The Kindred Project (KP) is a unique student-led Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) set up in 2010 by Sotogrande International School (SIS) with the goal of enabling and empowering students to use education as a force for good.

KP strongly believes that proactive, responsible young people are essential for overcoming the problems in the world, and thus must be encouraged and supported as drivers of positive change within their local communities and beyond.

Placing these convictions at the heart of our work, KP works with long-lasting partners in Ecuador (since 2008), Morocco (since 2007), Spain (since 2013) and Uganda (since 2012) to support specific communities in addressing challenges by increasing access to education and quality of education, developing and supporting local social-enterprise initiatives, as well as strengthening values of global citizenship, a key value within SIS.

Through innovative, sustainable and inclusive programmes, The Kindred Project offers opportunities for our students to work hand in hand with the communities we support. These are valuable learning opportunities that have a positive impact for both students and our community partners alike; helping increase awareness of the world we live in, promote respect between different ways of life, whilst enabling students to make a difference.

Most importantly it allows us to learn more about ourselves, and realise the potential we have to help and to make changes
