The school's philosophy, values, beliefs, and personalised approach to education are established and approved by the School Board of Governors. The Board is responsible for defining and overseeing the school's strategic direction, ensuring that it is managed in line with its founding principles and the values of Inspired.
The School Board also ensures the school operates responsibly within its annual budget and maintains strong financial governance. In addition, it is responsible for appointing the Headteacher and monitoring and evaluating their performance.
While the Governors are not involved in the day-to-day management of the school, they oversee key areas including safeguarding, student wellbeing, and academic progress to ensure that the school's values, policies, and standards are consistently upheld. The Board is also responsible for approving the annual school fees.

Maryssa O'Connor is Executive Head of Sotogrande International School, bringing extensive international leadership experience and a deep commitment to academic excellence, innovation and student wellbeing.
She is passionate about creating an inclusive learning environment where every student is known, valued and empowered to fulfil their potential. Under her leadership, Sotogrande International School continues to strengthen its reputation as one of Europe's leading international schools, offering the full International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum alongside A Levels, as well as exceptional opportunities in sport, the performing arts and innovation.
