SIS to become a University of Bath Study Centre in 2009

SIS will become a University of Bath Study Centre from Spring term 2009 offering the first study unit in April 2009.

Following a successful visit from Professor Jeff Thompson and Dr Mary Hayden from the University of Bath in May we are pleased to announce that SIS will become a University of Bath Study Centre as from Spring term 2009. The first study unit will be offered to international educators from this region in April 2009.

Having also been accepted as a pilot centre, SIS will also be offering IB teachers in the region the opportunity to gain the IB teacher Award through the SIS Study Centre.

Professor Thompson and Dr Hayden also made three presentations in May: one to international school heads in the region about the MA in International Education and the IB Teacher Award; one to staff about developments in international curricula; and one to staff about Third Culture Kids (TCKs). The presentations were well received and SIS will be following up the presentation on TCKs with a workshop in September.
