1. Haiti Earthquake appeal: Thank you to everyone who contributed as part of the non-uniform day which raised nearly €2000 for our Haiti appeal
In addition to the €3000 already donated by the SIS community, we have now donated a further €1000 each to Shelter Box www.shelterbox.org/index.php and Partners in Health www.standwithhaiti.org/haiti. These are recommended organisations that are demonstrating success in getting relief to the survivors of the earthquake.
We are planning to raise further funds through:
• Pancake Breakfast: On Wednesday 27 January, D1 CAS students will be providing a Pancake Breakfast to help the Haiti appeal. Pancakes, with a variety of dressings, will be on sale at €1 each and all secondary students and parents will have an opportunity of enjoying this breakfast.
• Community cash donations - if anyone would like to add further to the SIS campaign, Helen Miles will accept donations in the school office.
• Help Haiti Golf and Gala dinner: Please see the end of this bulletin for details of a golf competition and gala dinner on Friday 5 February to raise money for Haiti. Members of the SIS choir and solo student singers will be performing in this event. We encourage members of the SIS community to support it.

1. P4 Students visit to Malaga Airport: On Monday 25 and Wednesday 27 February the students of P4 will visit Málaga Airport as part of their unit of inquiry on Transport.

Timetable: Week 1

1. M4 IAYP: This trip has been rescheduled due to very bad weather. The new date will be announced soon.

2. M5 Theatre trip presentation: On Wednesday 27 January at 7.00pm in the theatre, there will be a presentation to parents and students about the planned M5 Theatre trip to London. All students should attend.

3. Theatre Trip: Three students accompanied Sam Reed on Sunday to watch the famous Greek Tragedy Fedra at Teatro Cervantes. It was a fascinating experience to see Greek theatre performed in the traditional sense, with fitting costumes, set design and music. The quality of acting was astounding and students were able to witness the different vocal quality that performers needed to have to portray the high drama of this style of theatre. This performance will be another experience which they can incorporate into their final assessments in Theatre.

4. D1-2 University advice: On Monday 25 January, several Diploma students will be visiting the Feria de Universidades in Puerto Santa María and this will be followed up by a presentation on Tuesday 26 January by representatives from Universidad San Pablo CEU de Madrid.

1. Under 15 Boys Football: Last Wednesday our U15 boys participated in a keenly contested football tournament the results were: Lost 5-1 v Swans: Won 2-1 v ICSP.

2. Under 15 Girls Football: There will be a U15 girls football tournament on Wednesday 27 January at ICSP. Bus departs SIS at 1.00pm and returns by 5.00pm.

3. Extra Curricular Activities: Unfortunately, due to lack of demand, the following activities have been cancelled until further notice:
• Rugby Tots on Monday
• Mini Tennis on Friday
• Mandarin Chinese on Wednesday and Thursday
