In November five students representing all  5 year groups in the Secondary school went to Laude College in San Pedro to compete in a maths competition. 

Carlota (M1), Julius (M2), Jaimie (M3), Sam (M4) and Nicholas (M5) were our representatives. Jaimie in M3 was one of the winning team and we had 3 pupils in the top three teams at the end of the final round.

The students were put into mixed schools and mixed age group teams and set to work. There were a number of different rounds: maths charades, beat the buzzer, and problem-solving. In the the final they had to construct a poster about Ciphers and code-breaking.

The pupils had a great day and fully engaged with the experience on a number of levels.  We are planning to host a repeat event for the schools along the coast here at SIS.
